A little bit about me!
I live in Bradford on Avon with my husband, children and a very naughty golden retriever!
After qualifying from University my career started on a graduate programme with Weetabix where we launched the movable breakfast Alpen Bars, which was a huge change in direction from the standard tabletop cereal delivery. It was a great platform to start my career which then developed to me moving to a pharmaceutical company based in Bristol, where we launched the Boots own label vitamins. After exploring the marketing mechanics of a business, I wanted to balance my experience with an in depth knowledge of accountancy. This is when I decided to set up my own business in 2007 where I retrained under the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. I then worked with a select number of businesses as a CFO and CEO to drive business performance, which all started with a good understanding of the business strategy, management accounts and marketing.
Bookkeeping allows you to get deeply embedded in the roots of a business to clearly identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and to see the actual situation versus the business objectives, cash flow, budgets and projections. With this vital information digested from an external perspective and delivered in an informative manner, it can really help provide business guidance and better business planning against desired objectives, with a realistic review of the past and the present.
When I have completed my ‘To Do’ list for the day, I love nothing more than a 5 km run and some clean air to feel fighting fit and ready for the next exciting day ahead.
My qualifications include:
7 GCSE’s A-C
3 A levels
Diploma in Art & Design
HND in Business & Marketing – Distinction
BA (Hons) in International Business & Finance 2:1
Diploma in Payroll and Bookkeeping (both distinctions)
I am a Fellow of the institute of Certified Bookkeepers
